STATIONORD invite invite le photographe Marvin Bonheur en gare du nord du 21 décembre à la fin février !
La gare du Nord accueille chaque jour 700 000 voyageurs. Sur l’invitation de StatioNord, Marvin Bonheur est allé à leur rencontre. Dans le tumulte des départs et des arrivées, il a passé un moment avec eux, le temps d’une photo et d’une anecdote, pour prendre le pouls de la gare.
Dans sa pratique, Marvin Bonheur valorise chacun et chacune, capture ce qui les rend uniques. Pas de jugement. Pas de clichés. Le naturel comme apparat, l’humain comme credo. Il a d’ailleurs commencé la photographie pour casser les stéréotypes qui étouffent la banlieue, où il a grandi, avant que les marques de mode ne viennent le chercher pour son regard documentaire et criant de style.
Grandes escapades ou trajets quotidiens, à chacun son voyage, son look et son expérience. L’exposition propose un instantané de la gare à travers ceux qui la vivent. StatioNord s’inspire de leur vécu pour créer une future gare qui leur ressemble.
700,000 people pass daily through the Gare du Nord, the busiest railway station in Paris. Marvin Bonheur, commissioned by StatioNord to create a portrait of the travelers, went out to meet them and spend a moment together amid the hustle and bustle of arrivals and departures: just long enough to take a photo, share an anecdote, and feel the vibe of the station.
In his photographic practice, Marvin Bonheur appreciates everyone and tries to capture their uniqueness. There is no judgment. There is no prejudice. Being yourself is his method, being human is his credo. He actually got into photography to break the stereotypes that suffocate the suburbs. He had himself lived in public housing projects until big fashion labels discovered his keen eye of a documentarian and his bold, brassy style.
From daily commutes to faraway adventures, there are as many ways to travel as there are travelers – and as many styles and stories to tell. The exhibition offers a snapshot of the train terminal through the features of people in transit. StatioNord draws inspiration from their experiences to design a future train station in their image.
